Jakarta Civil Servants Working from Home Every Friday Must Use Transjakarta If Travelling

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has requested that civil servants (ASN) of the DKI Provincial Government use public transportation if they need to travel during work from home (WFH) sessions every Friday.

According to Pramono, this is not an obstacle because ASN in Jakarta have already been granted free public transport facilities.

“So once again to ASN in Jakarta, apologies, they are relatively privileged compared to others and actually already quite well off. Even ASN in Jakarta are included in the 15 groups eligible for free public transport in Jakarta,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday (2/4/2026).

“And if they want to use any public transport, for ASN in Jakarta it is free. Thus, there is no reason not to take advantage of that,” he added.

In addition, Pramono has banned ASN from using official vehicles during WFH.

“Because when working from home, I do not permit anyone to use those vehicles for personal purposes since their status is work from home,” he stated.

He also warned that he would impose strict sanctions if ASN misuse the facilities.

Furthermore, Pramono noted that the WFH policy also impacts budget efficiency, particularly fuel expenditure within the DKI Provincial Government environment.
