Jakarta Civil Servants Can Work from Home Every Friday, Conditions Include 2 Years of Service and No Ongoing Discipline
The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) has set several conditions for Civil Servants (ASN) wishing to implement the work from home (WFH) policy every Friday. The policy is contained in Circular Letter (SE) of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 3/SE/2026, signed by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung on 6 April 2026. These provisions are designed to ensure that employees working from home already understand the work rhythm and their responsibilities. In addition to length of service, other conditions that must be met are that the ASN is not currently undergoing or in the process of disciplinary punishment. “Employees who can carry out WFH must meet the criteria of not currently undergoing or in the process of disciplinary punishment and/or having more than two years of service,” states the explanation. If they violate these provisions, employees may face sanctions, ranging from being prohibited from participating in WFH to disciplinary sanctions in accordance with regulations. In addition, employees are also required to conduct online attendance twice a day and report daily performance achievements to their direct superiors. Furthermore, high-ranking officials, district heads, and village heads are also excluded from this WFH policy.
