Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has banned civil servants (ASN) within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government from using official vehicles during the work-from-home (WFH) policy implemented every Friday. During WFH, ASN are expected to work from home, leaving no justification for using official vehicles or other facilities for purposes outside of work. “Because when working from home, I do not permit anyone to use those vehicles for personal interests since their status is work from home,” Pramono stated at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday (2/4/2026). According to Pramono, this is not an issue as ASN in Jakarta already benefit from free public transport facilities. “So once again to the ASN in Jakarta, apologies, but they are relatively privileged compared to others; in fact, it’s already quite good. Even ASN in Jakarta are included in the 15 groups eligible for free public transport in Jakarta,” Pramono explained. With these conveniences provided, Pramono reminded ASN not to act spoiled. “And if they want to use any public transport, it’s free for ASN in Jakarta. Thus, there is no excuse not to take advantage of it,” he said. He also warned that he would impose strict sanctions if ASN misuse the facilities. Furthermore, Pramono noted that the WFH policy also impacts budget efficiency, particularly in reducing fuel expenditures within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
