Jakarta Civil Servants Allowed to Work from Anywhere Before and After Eid, but Must Clock In
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has established a work from anywhere (WFA) policy for civil servants (ASN) during the national holiday and collective leave period for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
“This decision is based on Presidential Decree Number 42 of 2025 on Collective Leave for ASN Employees in 2026,” stated DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung in his official statement, quoted on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
The policy is outlined in the Governor of DKI Jakarta’s Circular Letter Number 2/SE/2026 on Adjustments to the Implementation of Official Duties for ASN during the National Holiday and Collective Leave for the Holy Day of Nyepi, Saka New Year 1948, and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
In the circular, the DKI Provincial Government provides flexibility for ASN to work from the office (work from office/WFO) or from other locations (WFA).
The WFA implementation schedule is set as follows:
However, the number of ASN who can implement WFA is limited and determined selectively by each head of regional apparatus, considering organisational needs and employee conditions.
ASN implementing WFA are still required to conduct online attendance through the official DKI Provincial Government application.
In addition, working hour targets must still be met, namely 7.5 hours per day on 16–17 March 2026 and 8.5 hours per day on 25–27 March 2026.
The DKI Provincial Government emphasises that the WFA policy must not disrupt services to the public. Heads of regional apparatus are asked to ensure that public services continue to operate optimally, effectively, and efficiently.
The WFA policy does not apply to the following work units:
With this arrangement, the DKI Provincial Government hopes to maintain ASN performance while providing flexibility for employees during the long Lebaran holiday period.
