Jakarta — The Civil Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Jakarta Province has mobilised 1,790 personnel to maintain security and public order throughout the Eid holiday period in 2026.

“Personnel are deployed across all Jakarta regions. Assignments are rotated to ensure continuous surveillance over 24 hours,” said Satriadi Gunawan, Head of the Jakarta Province Civil Police Unit, in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

Satriadi explained that security measures are being implemented to anticipate potential security disturbances during the Eid holiday period, when many residents’ homes are left vacant.

The Civil Police Unit has requested regional authorities strengthen coordination with local law enforcement and community representatives.

Satriadi urged residents travelling during the Eid period to inform their neighbours about their departure so that vacant homes can be monitored by local community members.

“If possible, inform the surrounding neighbourhood that you are travelling,” he said.

“Perhaps patrols, which previously occurred once, could be increased to two or three times. The patrols must also be of good quality, not merely passing by, but greeting residents and assessing the security situation in the surrounding area,” Satriadi explained.

Surveillance will also be focused on tourist areas and crowded centres expected to see increased visitors following the Eid celebrations.
