Jakarta CFD Cancelled Today

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has cancelled the implementation of the Car Free Day (CFD) or Hari Bebas Kendaraan Bermotor (HBKB) on Sunday (22/3/2026). The cancellation of the event is in commemoration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. “In commemoration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, the implementation of the Car Free Day (HBKB) on Sunday, 22 March, is cancelled,” stated the official announcement from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), quoted on Saturday (21/3/2026). The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency also urged road users to always comply with traffic rules and prioritise safety on the roads. In the regulations, it is explained that HBKB can be cancelled if, at the same time, there is a special-scale event, either national or international, that requires special traffic arrangements and security. CFD itself is a weekly routine event in Jakarta. The agenda is usually implemented on several main road sections, such as Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Thamrin. On the day of the CFD implementation, motor vehicles are prohibited from passing through the designated routes from 06:00 WIB to 10:00 WIB.
