The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police has awarded its personnel and members of the public who assisted in uncovering drug cases. The awards serve as appreciation for the active role of the community in supporting the Guard Jakarta programme.

The awards were personally presented by Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Kombes Reynold EH Hutagalung during the morning assembly at the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters on Tuesday (21/4/2026). The event was attended by the Deputy Police Chief, principal officers, and sector police chiefs.

In his address, Kombes Reynold expressed thanks to the residents for their concern in protecting Jakarta from the dangers of drugs. He also thanked the personnel for their commitment to preventing drug circulation in the area.

“We extend our thanks to the community that has shown concern and courage in providing information to the police. This is a tangible form of the Guard Jakarta collaboration, where residents and police work together to protect the environment from the threat of narcotics distribution,” said Reynold.

Reynold highlighted the crucial role of the community in the revelations. Thanks to reports from the public that were quickly followed up, they were able to thwart the distribution of narcotics and prohibited drugs.

One such case was the sale of hard drugs listed in Schedule G, disguised as a new ornamental fish shop, which was recently dismantled. This case was uncovered thanks to information from local residents.

Reynold emphasised that the success was inseparable from the speed of the members in following up on resident reports. According to him, this synergy must be continuously strengthened to narrow the room for criminal actors to operate.

“These awards are also given to members who promptly responded to community information. The speed and sensitivity of personnel in the field are key to ensuring every report is followed up accurately and promptly,” he added.

The awarded personnel include Ipda Arief Huda Akbar, Ipda Bambang Nugroho, Aiptu Sumindar, Aipda Agustinus Widiarso, and Bripda Haris Prayogo. From the community, the award was given to Mardiyanto, who was deemed to have played an active role in providing initial information to the police.

For the Central Jakarta Police, the spirit of Guard Jakarta is not just a police duty. The active role of the community in daring to report suspicions of criminal acts is considered an important part in keeping Jakarta safe, orderly, and conducive, while strengthening efforts to eradicate narcotics.
