Additionally, Borobudur Hotel contributed 25 large cows to Istiqlal. “Social assistance in the form of meat is most appropriate during Eid al-Adha in Islam. It is encouraged for people of all faiths to share if possible, to help the community overcome protein shortages,” Nasaruddin said. Nasaruddin said as of Wednesday, Istiqlal had received 63 cows, 18 goats, and one sheep, but was still accepting sacrificial animal donations until Thursday, 28 May 2026. Previously, Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro stated that the budget for President Prabowo’s sacrificial cows amounted to approximately Rp100 billion. He said the funds for the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah sacrifices came from the President’s social assistance budget. During this year’s Eid al-Adha, President Prabowo distributed 1,098 cows across Indonesia. “The funding source is the state budget (APBN), via the President’s social assistance budget,” Juri said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. Juri added that cow prices vary based on weight and location. “We adjust the price per region, with the total expenditure around Rp100 billion,” he said.
