Jakarta Car Free Day Cancelled on 31 May 2026 for Waisak Holiday

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has announced that there will be no Car Free Day (CFD) on Sunday, 31 May 2026. The cancellation of the Car-Free Motor Vehicle Day (HBKB) activity is in observance of Waisak Day 2570. The agency has urged residents to adjust their weekend exercise schedules and locations accordingly. The announcement was made via the official Instagram account of the Jakarta Transportation Agency (@dishubdkijakarta). “Residents are urged to always comply with traffic regulations and prioritise road safety,” the official Dishub account stated on Thursday, 28 May 2026. The decision to cancel the vehicle-free zone is based on Article 5(1) of the Governor Regulation of DKI Jakarta No. 12 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of Car Free Day in Jakarta.
