Jakarta Car Free Day Cancelled on 31 May 2026

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Car Free Day (CFD) in Jakarta scheduled for Sunday, 31 May 2026, has been confirmed as cancelled.

The information was announced by the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub DKI) via its official Instagram account and reported by Kompas.com on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

Dishub DKI explained that the cancellation is due to the observance of Waisak Day 2570.

“Hello, #TemanDishub, in observance of Waisak Day 2570, the Car Free Day (HBKB) on Sunday, 31 May 2026 has been CANCELLED,” stated Dishub DKI Jakarta.

“Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Jakarta Provincial Governor’s Regulation No. 12 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of HBKB (Car Free Day),” the statement added.

The agency urged the public to comply with traffic regulations and prioritise road safety during the weekend.

“It is advised that #TemanDishub always adhere to traffic rules and prioritise safety on the roads,” Dishub said.

It is worth noting that CFD typically takes place along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to MH Thamrin, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM WIB.

The CFD programme on Sudirman-Thamrin has been a regular weekly event every Sunday.
