Jakarta-Bandung Railway Line Still Disrupted Due to Landslide
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is accelerating the handling of a landslide that occurred on the Maswati-Sasaksaat (MSI-SKT) track section on Wednesday, 1 April 2026 at 2:53 PM WIB. KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that current efforts at the site are focused on speeding up the clearance of the track and the evacuation of affected facilities to restore normal train operations as soon as possible.
“We are handling this quickly by involving all relevant parties. Based on field estimates, the process is projected to be completed in approximately five hours from 4:30 PM WIB,” Anne said in a written statement.
The landslide material blocking the track at Km 142+8/9 has caused operational disruptions to train KA 174 Ciremai and several other trains on this route. The incident location is a single track and serves as a vital access from Jakarta to Bandung (the section between Purwakarta and Padalarang). KAI is regulating train movements as part of efforts to ensure safety and service smoothness.
As the handling process continues, KAI is maintaining coordination across units and related agencies to ensure every stage proceeds safely and under control.
“KAI extends its apologies for the inconvenience caused,” she said.
For the latest information on train journeys, including delays or cancellations, customers can contact KAI’s customer service via Contact Center 121, WhatsApp 0811-2223-3121, or email [email protected].
“Safety remains our top priority, and all handling processes are being carried out quickly and measurably to restore normal train operations as soon as possible,” Anne concluded.
