As a city grows larger, art and culture become one of the
facets of life in the metropolis. Along with the construction of
shopping centers in Jakarta, the maintenance of its art
facilities and the building of new facilities will make its image
complete.

Jakarta particularly needs a music hall with specially
designed acoustics, seating and stage arrangement for concerts.
With art performances balancing the city's daily activities, we
could expect a more dynamic and harmonious city.

Regular art programs would also help convince foreigners that
Jakarta is secure, peaceful and cultured. Though the government
should not necessarily finance this effort, the provincial
administration must play a motivating role.
