Jakarta – The Catholic Professionals and Entrepreneurs Association of the Jakarta Archdiocese (PUKAT KAJ) is organising Run4U2026 as a humanitarian initiative whilst campaigning for environmental stewardship through the theme “Run for Earth: Green Steps, Better Planet”.

This year’s diocesan theme invites church members and the public to care for and actively heal the “wounds” of nature caused by human activities.

“Currently, a serious environmental crisis is occurring in Indonesia, such as flooding, landslides, and extreme weather. This crisis affects all of Indonesia from the Sumatran region, which has suffered the most severe damage, to the Jabodetabek area which faces issues of air pollution, water contamination, waste crisis, and land subsidence,” said Cardinal Ignatius Suharyo at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.

The event is scheduled to take place at QBIG BSD City in Tangerang on 7 June.

In addition, the event will include a virtual running component that will take place over one month from 1-30 April.

“The enthusiasm of the public in previous years has motivated us to once again present Run4U as a healthy movement that cares for nature. We invite parishioners and the general public, as well as donors and sponsors, to work together to support the success of this event,” said Run4U Committee Chair Alexzander Zaputra Tedja.

The event also opens donation channels which will subsequently be distributed to the Laudato Si’ Movement Indonesia. Additionally, there are other social activities conducted by PUKAT KAJ.

“Reflecting on the extraordinary enthusiasm in previous years, we again invite Catholics and the broader public to participate, either as runners or as sponsorship partners, to ensure the success of Run4U2026,” said PUKAT KAJ Chair Reymund Levy.

Participants can begin registering for the event during the registration period from 1 March to 30 April. Additionally, a donation period has been opened from 1 March to 7 June.
