The management of Ragunan Zoo (TMR) is waiving entrance fees and offering prize quizzes to visitors in celebration of Jakarta’s 499th anniversary. Free access to Ragunan Zoo will be available to the public on 22 June 2026, as well as 27–28 June 2026. “Ragunan Zoo supports the series of celebrations organised by the Jakarta Provincial Government,” said Ragunan Zoo Public Relations Head Wahyudi Bambang in Jakarta on Monday (15/6/2026). Bambang stated that the celebration carries a special theme for Ragunan Zoo: “Explore Ragunan, Know the Animals, Love Jakarta”. In accordance with the directive of the Jakarta Provincial Government, the public can enjoy free entry to Ragunan Zoo on 22 June 2026 and 27–28 June 2026 as part of the 499th anniversary celebrations of Jakarta. “To add to the festivities, Ragunan Zoo will hold interactive quizzes with attractive prizes that visitors can participate in during the Jakarta anniversary celebration period,” he said. This activity is expected to serve as both an educational tool and entertainment for the community, especially families and the younger generation. Ragunan Zoo invites the public to get closer to animal diversity, increase awareness of environmental conservation, and foster a love for Jakarta as a city that continues to develop towards a new era. Through various educational and recreational activities, visitors will be invited to explore the Ragunan area, get to know various collections of native and exotic animals, and participate in interesting quizzes that test knowledge about wildlife, conservation, and the history of Jakarta. The Ragunan Night Zoo service is also planned to open on the eve of Jakarta’s 499th anniversary. According to him, the momentum of Jakarta’s anniversary is a good opportunity to strengthen Ragunan’s role as a leading educational tourism destination that provides a fun learning experience for the community. “Through the theme ‘Explore Ragunan, Know the Animals, Love Jakarta’, we want to invite the public to get to know the richness of Indonesian wildlife better, foster concern for conservation, and together celebrate Jakarta’s journey towards a new, more advanced and sustainable era,” said Bambang. Ragunan Zoo invites all residents of Jakarta and its surrounding areas to attend and enjoy various special activities during the 499th anniversary celebrations of Jakarta.
