Jakarta Anniversary: Public Transport and Tourist Sites Free on 22 and 27 June

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will waive fees for public transport services and a number of tourist attractions during the 499th anniversary of Jakarta, which falls on 22 June 2026. This policy applies to residents who hold a DKI Jakarta identity card (KTP).

The announcement was made by Governor Pramono Anung during a visit to a waste management site in the Joglo area, West Jakarta, on Thursday (11/6/2026). According to Pramono, the policy is a birthday gift from the city to its residents.

“The first gift for residents of RW 07 and indeed all Jakarta residents with a Jakarta KTP is free access to LRT, MRT, and TransJakarta,” Pramono stated.

In addition to public transport, the provincial government is also waiving entry fees to a number of tourist destinations and public facilities managed by the city administration. “This includes entry to Ancol, museums managed by the DKI Jakarta Government, and the National Monument (Monas), including if you want to go up and see the whole view,” he added.

Pramono said the policy also applies to Ragunan Wildlife Park and sports facilities managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

He explained that the free access programme will be implemented on Monday, 22 June, as well as on Saturday and Sunday, 27 and 28 June. The free facilities will also be available during the weekend of the anniversary celebrations, which will involve various entertainment activities and music performances.

“This applies on Monday, 22 June, which is exactly Jakarta’s 499th anniversary. Then on Saturday, 27 June, because the public commemoration involves the community,” he said.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also invite musicians from various regions to enliven the anniversary celebrations. Residents are therefore encouraged to take advantage of the free facilities provided throughout the series of celebrations.

“So, everything I have mentioned from point one to point six will be free of charge. Hopefully, this will bring benefits to the residents and, most importantly, make them feel a sense of ownership of Jakarta,” he concluded.
