Jakarta Anniversary Peak Celebration at HI Roundabout, Check Weekend Traffic Engineering

The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has prepared situational traffic engineering during the peak celebration of Jakarta’s 499th anniversary, which will be held in the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout area on 27-28 June 2026. Head of DKI Jakarta Dishub Budi Awaluddin stated that traffic management is being implemented to ensure the event runs smoothly while maintaining public mobility around the event location. He noted that the HI Roundabout area will be the centre of the peak celebration, which is expected to attract thousands of visitors. Several roads around the event site will be used to support the series of activities, potentially causing vehicle congestion at certain hours. “We have prepared situational and gradual traffic management, including alternative routes, parking pockets, and public transport support,” Budi said on Thursday (25/6/2026). Traffic management will be implemented on several roads intersecting directly with the event location from 14:00 WIB to 23:00 WIB. Roads potentially affected include Jalan MH Thamrin, the Bundaran HI-Dukuh Atas segment of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Sutan Syahrir, Jalan Teluk Betung, Jalan Kotabumi, Jalan Sumenep, and Jalan M Mashabi. To anticipate congestion, Dishub DKI Jakarta has prepared several alternative routes. Road users from Harmoni heading to Semanggi can pass through Jalan Ir H Juanda, Jalan Suryopranoto, Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, to Jalan Prof Dr Satrio. Vehicles from Tugu Tani heading to Tanah Abang can use Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jalan Budi Kemuliaan, Jalan Abdul Muis, to Jalan Fachrudin. Meanwhile, road users from Menteng heading to Tanah Abang can pass through Jalan Agus Salim, Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, or via Jalan Kebon Sirih and Jalan Fachrudin. Vehicles from Semanggi heading to Harmoni can use Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Jalan Cideng Barat, and Jalan Suryopranoto. Dishub DKI Jakarta has deployed 475 personnel to manage traffic and provide public services during the event. Budi urged the public to adjust their travel times, use alternative routes, and avoid affected roads to reduce potential congestion. However, traffic flow on Jalan Kebon Sirih and Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim from west to east and vice versa will remain normal and accessible to road users. Dishub DKI Jakarta also requested the public to comply with the directions of officers in the field to maintain safety and smooth traffic flow during the peak of the Jakarta anniversary celebration.
