Jakarta Anniversary Peak at Bundaran HI This Weekend: Traffic Engineering to Be Implemented

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will implement traffic engineering on a number of roads during the peak celebration of the 499th Jakarta City Anniversary in the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI) area. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that traffic arrangements are being made because the peak series of the Jakarta Anniversary takes place on 27-28 June 2026. ‘Because 27-28 June is the peak of the DKI Jakarta Anniversary, on 27 June we will implement schedule arrangements on several roads, namely Jalan Bundaran HI to Dukuh Atas, M.H. Thamrin, Jalan Mas Mansyur, Jalan Sutan Syahrir, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Kotabumi, Jalan Teluk Betung, and Jalan Sumenep,’ said Pramono at City Hall on Friday (26/6). Pramono explained that the traffic engineering on Saturday (27/6) will be enforced from 14.00 to 23.00 WIB. The arrangement is being made because the peak event for the 499th DKI Jakarta Anniversary is being held from the afternoon until the evening at Bundaran HI. In addition to the Jakarta Anniversary series, Pramono mentioned that on Sunday (28/6) a Bhayangkara Day event will also be held. Therefore, traffic arrangements will also be applied to the Sudirman-Thamrin area. ‘Because all activities are centred in Sudirman-Thamrin, on 28 June the Car Free Day in Kuningan or Rasuna Said will be eliminated so that everything is concentrated on Jalan Sudirman, Thamrin, and the surrounding areas,’ said Pramono. In order to enliven the 499th Jakarta Anniversary, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also provide free entry to a number of tourist sites. Locations mentioned include Ragunan, Ancol, museums, and other destinations. This policy is part of the series of celebrations prepared by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for the public. The peak night of the 499th Jakarta City Anniversary will take place on 27 June 2026 from 15.30 to 22.00 WIB at Bundaran HI. A number of musicians are scheduled to perform to enliven the event, including Padi Reborn, Mahalini, Adrian Khalif, Cici Paramida, Mollucan Soul, Sania, Skarbu, and Pasming Based. In addition to musical performances, the event will also feature a light show, video mapping, flying LED, environmentally friendly art installations, and the launch of the logo towards five centuries of Jakarta. On Sunday, 28 June 2026, the public can enjoy the ‘Jakarta Penuh Warna’ event from 06.00 to 10.00 WIB in the Bundaran HI area. The event will showcase various art, cultural, sports, and entertainment attractions. Some of the activities prepared include PoundFit, a giant balloon parade from Sarinah to Bundaran HI, a marching band, a mass Nusantara dance involving around 500 dancers, a collaboration between Gambang Kromong and ballet, urban theatre, and a waste sorting action. Residents who intend to carry out activities around Sudirman-Thamrin on 27-28 June are advised to pay attention to the traffic arrangements and adjust their travel plans.
