Jakarta Anniversary: DKI DPRD Commits to Overseeing Development Policies

The DPRD of DKI Jakarta Province is committed to continuously overseeing development policies so that they always side with the people’s interests, strengthen global competitiveness, and maintain Jakarta’s identity as an inclusive and cultured city. This commitment was conveyed by the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Suhud Alynudin, during a Plenary Session commemorating the 499th Anniversary of Jakarta City at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building on Monday. Suhud stated that Jakarta has shown significant progress through modern and integrated infrastructure development, an increasingly well-organised public transportation system, and urban area planning that is more humanist and oriented towards citizen comfort. He said the success of development is also reflected in the improvement of public service quality and governance, service digitalisation, and strengthened budget transparency. Furthermore, active public participation in development planning has encouraged the creation of a more responsive and accountable government, sustainable flood control efforts, the development of green open spaces, and economic empowerment based on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the creative economy. “Entering its 499th year, these achievements should serve as a foundation for more visionary and sustainable steps forward,” Suhud said. According to Suhud, these accomplishments are tangible proof of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to realising transparent and accountable regional financial management. “More than just an administrative achievement, the WTP opinion reflects responsibility in managing the mandate and trust of the public,” Suhud expressed. He stated that the WTP opinion must become a foundation for continuously improving the quality of public services, development effectiveness, and the welfare of Jakarta’s citizens, because every rupiah managed must provide real benefits to the community. “May the synergy between the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continue to run strong in building an increasingly advanced and sustainable Jakarta,” Suhud concluded.
