What message will we covey in the context of the Jakarta 467th
anniversary? This is a time to revive a sense of togetherness
among Jakarta's pluralistic population.

As the capital city, Jakarta is really Indonesia in miniature.
About eight-and-a-half million people are struggling both for a
place to live and to earn a living. Under its pluralistic
condition, the ideal for a healthy togetherness is not easy to
realize. But it is the goal of the population of this
metropolitan city.

The path to be trodden to reach the goal is paved with dialogs
through various forums, an increase in public recreation centers,
and participation in carnivals.

And along with the effort to achieve the common objective,
everyone has to "make the best of Jakarta with all its
limitations."
