Jakarta Administration Says Public Purchasing Power Remains Stable

The Jakarta Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) has stated that the purchasing power of Jakarta’s residents remains stable, citing the results of an MSME bazaar held at City Hall from 20-23 July 2026. Head of the Jakarta PPKUKM Department, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, revealed that the turnover from the bazaar, which involved 69 assisted MSMEs, reached Rp 332.8 million over the four days. “The turnover achievement of more than Rp332 million in this bazaar shows that the purchasing power of Jakarta’s residents is still maintained,” she said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday. Elisabeth said that residents came to shop for local MSME products. This also serves as a positive signal that the quality of products from Jakarta’s assisted MSMEs is increasingly able to meet consumer needs and trust. “Most of the turnover was obtained through QRIS JakPreneur transactions, reflecting the increasingly widespread adoption of cashless payments among Jakarta’s assisted MSMEs,” she said. She claimed that the turnover achieved during the four-day bazaar at City Hall is an indicator that the promotion, product curation, and mentoring carried out by the PPKUKM Department have been able to enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs. The PPKUKM Department will continue to expand marketing access for assisted MSMEs, broaden the organisation of thematic bazaars, increase facilitation for participation in national and international scale exhibitions, and strengthen digital marketing. “We want more Jakarta MSMEs to upgrade, grow, and become part of a wider supply chain,” said Elisabeth.
