Jagorawi-Lenteng Agung toll road to open Friday
JAKARTA (JP): A 6.3-kilometer turnpike which stretches from Lenteng Agung in South Jakarta to the Jagorawi toll road will officially be opened Friday.
The road is an extension of the Pondok Pinang-Lenteng Agung toll road operated by PT Marga Nurindo Bhakti since last September.
A presidential decree which established the fees for the new road was announced yesterday. The decree also reduced the tariff for trucks and buses using the Pondok Pinang-Lenteng Agung toll road.
The new extension will have three toll gates -- in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, Kampung Rambutan and Gedong -- according to a press release from the state-owned PT Jasa Marga road company.
Traffic from the Jagorawi toll road heading for Pasar Minggu, Jl. R.S. Fatmawati, Pondok Indah and Pondok Pinang, will enter the Pasar Rebo gate.
Traffic between the direction of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and Cilangkap and Pasar Minggu, Jl. R.S. Fatmawati and Pondok Indah will enter the Kampung Rambutan toll gate.
Meanwhile, the Gedong gate will take in traffic from Jl. Raya Bogor.
Based on Presidential Decree No. 78 on the toll, vehicles in Group I and IIA are charged Rp 500 to Rp 4,500, the latter for the longest distance, from Pasar Rebo to Pondok Pinang.
Group I includes sedans, jeeps, minibuses and small trucks. Group IA includes large, two-axle trucks and buses.
Vehicles in Group IIB are charged Rp 1,000 to Rp 5,000. These are large trucks and buses with at least three axles.
No toll increases are mentioned in the decree. (anr)
