JAFF Market 2026 aims to strengthen film ecosystem through collaboration

Jakarta - The Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) Market 2026 is returning as a collaborative platform for film industry players to strengthen the national film ecosystem through meetings between creators, investors, distributors, and other stakeholders. JAFF Market Director Linda Gozali stated that audience numbers are not the only benchmark for the film industry’s development. According to her, JAFF Market exists to strengthen the ecosystem so that more industry players can grow. “Every year, regardless of the economic situation, we strive not to look only at the numbers,” Linda said during the JAFF Market 2026 press conference in Jakarta on Friday. She believes the meaning behind audience figures actually serves as a basis for expanding collaboration and opening greater opportunities for all film industry players. She said this optimism needs to be supported by broadening public access to Indonesian films while helping more works find their way to the domestic market. “This is where films must find their way to the largest and most potential domestic market,” she stated. Therefore, JAFF Market will continue to be developed as a space that brings filmmakers together with investors, distributors, and various strategic partners so that collaboration can lead to tangible cooperation. This year’s event features various programmes that open opportunities for industry players to build networks, obtain funding, and expand the distribution of their works. JAFF Market 2026 is scheduled to take place from 28 November to 30 November in Yogyakarta with support from Amar Bank as the main partner. The event is expected to become a space for new collaborations that will strengthen the Indonesian film industry in the future. According to Fadli, the existence of a film market is one of the important foundations for maintaining the sustainability of the national film industry through cooperation and joint project development. “The most important thing is continuity, sustainability,” Fadli said during the JAFF Market 2026 press conference. Fadli hopes JAFF Market will continue to grow into an international-standard film platform capable of expanding collaboration and bringing the works of Indonesian filmmakers to the global market.
