Jaecoo plans to expand its product line in Indonesia by introducing a seven-seat SUV. The move is to maintain sales momentum in the domestic market following the success of the J5 EV electric model. Zeng Shuo, President Director of Chery Group Indonesia, said Jaecoo has prepared two seven-seat SUV models to be introduced gradually from this year through to next year. He explained that the two models will strengthen Jaecoo’s identity as an SUV brand with rugged character, particularly in off-road capability. ‘Both will strengthen Jaecoo’s identity, especially for off-road iconic SUVs. Compared with our existing products, these will be bigger,’ Zeng said. On the other hand, Jim Ma, Jaecoo Indonesia Business Unit Director, said the seven-seat SUV segment has strong appeal in Indonesia because it aligns with families’ mobility needs. ‘For seven-seater vehicles, I think they are models loved by the Indonesian public. So we indeed plan to bring them here,’ Ma said. ‘As for timing, we will try to launch as soon as possible. We have many model plans we want to launch this year, especially Jaecoo models. What we can say is the seven-seater SUV,’ he added.
