Jaecoo J8 SHS-P Operating Cost Only Rp20,000 per Day

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Jaecoo has introduced the J8 SHS-P Ardis as a hybrid SUV that prioritises not only high performance but also daily operating cost efficiency. The car is equipped with a 1,500 cc turbo DHT engine combined with the Super Hybrid System (SHS), i.e., plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system. ‘So the battery is 34.46 kWh, a 1,500 cc turbo DHT engine. The electric motor on this car is three, two at the front and one at the rear, giving the car substantial power. The full EV mode can cover 180 kilometres,’ said Ryan in Jakarta, on Thursday (21/5/2026). On paper, the J8 SHS-P Ardis can deliver up to 530 hp and a peak torque of 650 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h can be achieved in 5.2 seconds. Interestingly, despite its performance and intelligent AWD, daily running costs are claimed to remain efficient. ‘With all these advantages, the operating cost if used daily for 50 kilometres is around Rp 20,000,’ he said. ‘So the car provides a premium feel thanks to its intelligent AWD, yet maintains a low running cost,’ said Ryan.
