Jaecoo Aims to Deliver 10,000 J5 EVs Before Eid al-Fitr
Jaecoo Indonesia is accelerating the distribution of J5 EV units to customers ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026, with the aim that buyers who placed orders early can use the electric car for mudik travel. Head of Marketing Jaecoo Indonesia, Ilham Pratama, said the number of vehicle purchase orders (SPK) for the J5 EV has surpassed 15,000 since the model went on sale in Indonesia in November 2025. “From around 14,000 yesterday, it has now surpassed 15,000 SPK,” Ilham said in Tangerang on Thursday, 5 March 2026. “The units that have been shipped today are over 5,000. A week earlier it was around 4,000,” he added. According to Ilham, the company aims to deliver 10,000 units by March 2026. The target is focused on fulfilling orders from customers who placed orders during 2025. “For 2025 orders as promised, in March we want to fulfil 10,000 units. We believe the target is achievable,” he said. He added that the acceleration of distribution is intended so that customers can start using their vehicles promptly, including for long-distance travel during the Eid holidays. “In other words, customers who placed orders in 2025 can enjoy their cars for travel such as mudik or returning to their hometowns,” Ilham said. For information, the J5 EV is an electric SUV marketed in Indonesia with an electric motor rated at 155 kW (about 207.8 hp) and torque of 288 Nm. This car uses a 60.9 kWh battery, claimed to provide a range of up to 461 kilometres on a single charge according to NEDC testing. To support fast charging up to 130 kW, and the battery can be charged from 30 percent to 80 percent in around 28 minutes.
