A commitment to strengthening Indonesia's position as a centre of knowledge, character education, and global science was affirmed at the Jakarta Education Summit 2026, held on 15 February 2026 at the University of Indonesia (UI) Salemba campus.

The forum represented a strategic collaboration between the Women's Family Association of UI's Graduate School for Sustainable Development (IWK SPPB UI) and Jakarta Cosmopolite Islamic School (JACOS).

As a platform for academic dialogue, the conference emphasised the urgency of integrating character education and scientific advancement in the face of global dynamics and the acceleration of digital transformation. Academics, educators, and students discussed education models that are adaptive to technological development whilst remaining rooted in moral and ethical values.

At the summit, JACOS was formally introduced as a new educational institution committed to developing a holistic education model that integrates character, science, and a global perspective within a comprehensive learning framework.

JACOS was established as an effort to provide education that combines academic excellence with strong character formation and a global outlook. The school's founder, Kiai Didi, stated: "We established this school as an effort to produce a generation of noble character and global perspective. In the face of rapid global change, children need strong moral foundations to become leaders who benefit society."

JACOS carries the tagline "Nurturing Faith, Building Character, Inspiring Joyful Learning", which reflects the integration of moral values, science, and enjoyable learning experiences in every aspect of the educational process.

The presence of JACOS affirms that national progress cannot be separated from the foundations of ethics, integrity, and intellectual excellence working in tandem.

The Jakarta Education Summit 2026 is expected to become a consistent annual event that strengthens cross-institutional collaboration whilst positioning Indonesia as a global reference in character-based and science-driven education.
