Lebak, Banten – Jabodetabek Commuter Line users during the 25-day Ramadhan fasting period from 19 February to 15 March 2026 reached 24.2 million passengers.

According to KAI Commuter Vice President for Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda, the Soetta Airport Commuter Line and Merak Commuter Line recorded 162,393 and 252,501 passengers respectively during this period.

Key transit stations demonstrated substantial daily volumes: Manggarai Station averaged 150,000 passengers per day, Tanah Abang Station averaged 136,000 passengers per day, and Duri Station recorded an average of 80,000 passengers daily throughout the fasting period.

As the primary urban transport hub for the Jabodetabek region, the Commuter Line’s efficient access and connectivity to various daily activity centres ensures that integrated stations – including those connected to Commuter Line Lokal, LRT Jabodetabek, MRT, and Transjakarta – experienced high traffic volumes during Ramadhan.

Rangkasbitung Station, integrated with the Merak Commuter Line, recorded 300,874 alighting passengers from the Jabodetabek network, whilst Cikarang Station, integrated with the Walahar Commuter Line serving Purwakarta, recorded 489,597 alighting passengers. Sudirman Station and Cawang Station, both integrated with LRT Jabodetabek, recorded 934,216 and 616,291 alighting passengers respectively.

KAI Commuter maintained full operational capacity, operating 1,065 Jabodetabek Commuter Line journeys and 70 Soetta Airport Commuter Line journeys throughout the period. However, the Merak Commuter Line service was modified from 13 to 20 March 2026, terminating at Cilegon Station instead. Passengers requiring onward travel to Krenceng and Merak stations will receive shuttle bus connections from Cilegon Station.
