Jababeka Industrial Estate Plans to Build Indonesia's Largest Industrial Innovation Centre, IndiaTechZone
The Jababeka Industrial Estate plans to expand its facilities by establishing Indonesia's largest industrial innovation centre, named IndiaTechZone. The aim is to strengthen its role as an educational industrial tourism destination in Cikarang, as envisaged by the Bekasi Regency administration.
The plan to establish IndiaTechZone was announced at The Innovation Edge forum: India–Indonesia Collaboration Towards a Future-Ready Economy, held at the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in Jakarta on Wednesday (23/4/2025). The project will be developed through a strategic partnership with PT Jababeka Tbk.
IndiaTechZone represents an Indonesia-India collaboration. The zone is expected to become Indonesia's largest industrial innovation centre, integrating up to 30 leading technologies from India and serving as an open innovation platform for industrial collaboration.
President Director of PT Jababeka Tbk, S.D. Darmono, said that IndiaTechZone is currently still in the exploratory stage. Once realised, the project could serve as a strategic step in driving regional economic growth.
According to him, the zone is not merely about physical infrastructure. "This is a platform to empower communities, the younger generation, and entrepreneurs," he said.
