J Trust Bank Channels Green Savings Funds to Mangrove Planting Projects
PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk has allocated funds from its sustainable savings products to support various environmental rehabilitation and marine conservation programmes across Indonesia.
Through the TORA Green Savings and Blue Ocean Savings initiatives, the bank gathers environmental donation funds from corporate contributions and customer participation.
In 2025, the TORA Green Savings programme collected over Rp59 million, with approximately Rp17.6 million allocated for collaboration with Carbon Ethics.
Mangroves are crucial for coastal protection, mitigating erosion, shielding shorelines from extreme waves, and serving as habitats for marine species. They are also recognised as effective natural carbon sinks.
The programme includes regular monitoring and evaluation reports along with an online dashboard to track progress and impact.
J Trust Bank states this approach ensures customer contributions extend beyond mere donations, with long-term impact tracking.
The bank’s sustainability commitment is further expanded through Blue Ocean Savings, focusing on marine conservation and biodiversity protection.
Partnering with environmental organisations including Members of Nature, Sungai Watch, Divers Clean Action, Konservasi Indonesia, and Pandawara, the bank is preparing a sea turtle adoption and hatchling release programme in 2026, planned for Bali or Kalimantan with a proposed budget of around Rp35.9 million.
