IZI and PT Paragon Corp Inaugurate Student Scholarship Programme at ITB
The National Zakat Institution Inisiability Zakat Indonesia (IZI), in collaboration with PT Paragon Corp, has officially inaugurated the IZI Student Scholarship Programme for students at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). This collaboration is part of an effort to expand access to educational support while encouraging the development of capacity, character, and social awareness among the younger generation.
The inauguration took place in late September at the IPTEKS Auditorium, ITB Ganesha Campus, Bandung. The event was attended by the Director of Student Affairs and Alumni at ITB, Prof. Dr. apt. Muhamad Insanu, S.Si., M.Si.; the President Director of IZI, Wildhan Dewayana; representatives from PT Paragon Corp; and the student beneficiaries. The programme provides support to 12 ITB students from various departments. In addition to scholarship assistance for one year and subsidies for Single Tuition Fees (UKT), beneficiaries also receive coaching in the form of soft-skill training and character development.
Wildhan Dewayana, President Director of IZI and an ITB alumnus, expressed his joy in returning to his alma mater to meet and share experiences with the scholarship recipients. According to Wildhan, higher education plays a role not only in shaping academic competence but also in preparing the younger generation to make real contributions to society.
“We realise that to achieve this, investment in human resource development, particularly for students, is required. One form of this educational investment is realised through the IZI Student Scholarship Programme,” said Wildhan.
He added that educational support should not merely be viewed as financial assistance. Beyond that, the scholarship is expected to serve as an entry point for character building, capacity enhancement, and fostering students’ concern for the social issues surrounding them.
“The hope is that the beneficiaries will not only complete their education successfully but also grow into individuals who possess the capacity, character, and willingness to provide broader benefits,” he stated.
The Director of Student Affairs and Alumni at ITB, Prof. Dr. apt. Muhamad Insanu, S.Si., M.Si., noted that the beneficiaries are students who have undergone a selection process to receive support through the programme. He expressed hope that the opportunity obtained would be utilised to the fullest to develop potential and fulfil the responsibilities of being a scholarship recipient.
“This opportunity must certainly be utilised as best as possible. We hope that students can continue to develop themselves, both academically and in terms of character, so that they may eventually contribute to society,” he said.
Prof. Muhamad Insanu also expressed his appreciation for the synergy between PT Paragon Corp and LAZNAS IZI in supporting the continuity of education for ITB students. Through this programme, the collaboration between IZI and PT Paragon Corp is expected to extend beyond financial support, evolving into a coaching ecosystem that helps students maximise their academic and personal potential. Through this support, both parties hope to contribute to preparing a superior, character-driven, and socially conscious younger generation capable of bringing benefits to the community and the nation.
