IU celebrates birthday by donating to vulnerable groups

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Edam Entertainment stated that singer and actress IU chose to celebrate her birthday by donating 300 million won, or approximately IDR 3.5 billion, to vulnerable groups.

According to Yonhap News Agency on Saturday (16/5), IU made the donation under the name “IUaena,” which is a combination of the artist’s name and her official fan club, “Uaena.”

Edam said that 100 million won, or approximately IDR 1.17 billion, was given to Asan Medical Center in Seoul, while 50 million won, or approximately IDR 587 million, was given to each of four local charities.

IU has regularly made donations under the name “IUaena” on various occasions such as her debut anniversary, birthday, and year-end holidays. Earlier this month, she donated 100 million won to support children and teenagers on Children’s Day.
