The cybersecurity industry is undergoing its most significant shift in a decade. Increasingly complex digital threats, the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence, and the need for more adaptive protection are driving cybersecurity firms worldwide to boost investment in technology, software, and intellectual property as new growth engines. This change is not only altering customer needs but also transforming how cybersecurity companies build their businesses. The service model that has long been the industry’s foundation is now evolving towards platforms that combine AI, software, threat intelligence, and automation to deliver faster, smarter, and more sustainable protection. Responding to this shift, PT ITSEC Asia Tbk (IDX: CYBR) is strengthening its business strategy through an expansion of its business activities, which received shareholder approval during an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders held on Tuesday, 30 June 2026. This step serves as a foundation for the company to accelerate the development, commercialisation, and operation of AI-based cybersecurity technology while expanding its software-based and recurring revenue business model. For more than 16 years, ITSEC Asia has built its capabilities as a cybersecurity company protecting various organisations in Indonesia and the wider region. In recent years, the company has consistently increased investment in research and development to build its own technology. The shareholder approval marks an important milestone that aligns the company’s scope of business activities with the business direction it has been building towards its next growth phase. ITSEC Asia President Director Patrick Dannacher stated that AI represents a turning point for the cybersecurity industry, changing how the company creates value for customers. ‘For years, the cybersecurity industry grew through services. We believe the next phase will be determined by a company’s ability to build AI-based intellectual property. Going forward, customers will not only need a partner capable of providing cybersecurity services, but also technology that can learn, adapt, and evolve faster than the ever-changing threats. That is the direction we are building at ITSEC Asia,’ he explained. Patrick added that the move approved by shareholders is part of a long-term strategy that has been prepared over several years. ‘This transformation is not a sudden change in business direction. Over the past few years, we have strengthened our investment in research and development, built our own platforms, and developed various solutions born from real customer needs. Today’s shareholder approval provides a stronger foundation for us to accelerate the commercialisation of these innovations, expand technology-based revenue streams, and bring cybersecurity innovation from Indonesia to regional and global markets,’ he continued. Through the shareholder resolution, ITSEC Asia expands its business scope to include software publishing, AI-based programming activities, information technology activities, data processing, and software and computer trading. This expansion supports the development and commercialisation of various platforms the company has developed, including IntelliBroń Aman, IntelliBroń Orion, IntelliBroń Threat Intelligence, and Bronyx AI, while reinforcing the company’s strategy to build a technology-based business. The transformation is also supported by an independent feasibility study which concluded that the planned business expansion is viable. The study projects that the recurring revenue business model can generate an average gross profit margin of 74 per cent and an average net profit margin of 55 per cent over the 2026–2031 period. Implementation is supported by an initial investment requirement of IDR 11 billion, which will be fully funded from the company’s internal operational cash and leverage existing technology infrastructure and R&D capabilities. With this foundation, the company is optimistic it can accelerate strategy execution while maintaining capital discipline. Through this strategic move, ITSEC Asia reinforces its transformation into a cybersecurity technology company that develops intellectual property, software, and AI as the foundation for long-term growth. Amidst the changing digital threat landscape, the company believes technological innovation will be key to building stronger cyber resilience for organisations in Indonesia and the wider region. Concluding his statement, Patrick emphasised that AI is not a replacement for humans in cybersecurity, but rather a technology that enhances the capabilities of cybersecurity professionals. ‘We do not see AI as a replacement for humans in cybersecurity. We see AI as a force multiplier that enables cybersecurity experts to work faster, make more accurate decisions, and protect more organisations. The future of cybersecurity is not about humans or AI, but about how both work together to build stronger digital resilience. That is the future we are building.’
