ITPLN Reopens Bonded Work Programme for Air Conditioning Industry Graduates

Jakarta - The PLN Institute of Technology (ITPLN) is strengthening its synergy with the Indonesian Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Practitioners Association (Apitu) by reopening a bonded work programme for 100 students and building a refrigeration demonstration laboratory. ITPLN Rector Prof Iwa Garniwa Mulyana stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the synergy with Apitu is part of the campus’s efforts to expand partnerships with industries outside the PLN Group, which is key to producing graduates with competencies that match labour market demands. “ITPLN continues to open spaces for collaboration with various industrial sectors. The cooperation with Apitu is expected to strengthen student and graduate competencies, while expanding career opportunities for graduates in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry,” he said. Iwa explained that one of the main points of this cooperation is the bonded work programme for 100 ITPLN Diploma III students, created to provide career path certainty while meeting the need for skilled workers in the national refrigeration industry. “This collaboration is expected to produce innovations that support the development of more efficient and environmentally friendly cooling technology,” he stated. Iwa explained that ITPLN and Apitu are also opening opportunities for special classes for prospective Master’s programme students and the Engineer Professional Education Programme, designed to improve the quality of professional human resources with expertise in air conditioning and refrigeration. Meanwhile, Apitu Chairman Agus Susilo said that synergy between higher education and industry is an important step in producing a workforce with competencies that meet industry standards. “We are ready to support the development of ITPLN student competencies through certification programmes, internships, and strengthening learning based on industry needs. This collaboration is expected to produce graduates who are ready to contribute to the air conditioning and refrigeration sector,” said Agus Susilo.
