ITPLN Reopens Bonded Work Programme for Air Conditioning Industry Graduates
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The PLN Institute of Technology (ITPLNS) is strengthening its synergy with the Indonesian Air Conditioning and Airflow Practitioners Association (Apitu) by reopening a job bond programme for 100 students and establishing a demonstration laboratory for cooling technology.
In a statement in Jakarta on Thursday, the Rector of ITPLN, Prof. Iwa Garniwa Mulyana, stated that the synergy with Apitu is part of the university’s efforts to expand partnerships with industrial sectors outside the PLN Group. This is considered a key factor in producing graduates with competencies that meet labour market demands.
“ITPLN continues to open spaces for collaboration with various industrial sectors. The cooperation with Apitu is expected to strengthen the competence of students and graduates, while simultaneously expanding career opportunities within the air conditioning and airflow industry,” he said.
Iwa explained that a primary component of this partnership is the job bond programme for 100 Diploma III students at ITPLN. This initiative is designed to provide career path certainty while addressing the demand for skilled labour within the national cooling industry.
“This collaboration is expected to foster innovations that support the development of more efficient and environmentally friendly cooling technologies,” he added.
Iwa further explained that ITPLN and Apitu are also exploring opportunities to organise specialised classes for prospective Master’s (S2) students and the Professional Engineer Programme (PSPPI). These programmes are designed to enhance the quality of professional human resources possessing expertise in the field of air conditioning and airflow.
Meanwhile, the General Chairman of Apitu, Agus Susilo, noted that the synergy between higher education and the industrial world is a vital step in producing a workforce that meets industry standards.
“We are ready to support the development of ITPLN students’ competence through certification programmes, internships, and the strengthening of industry-driven learning. This collaboration is expected to produce graduates who are ready to contribute to the air conditioning and airflow sector,” said Agus Susilo.
