Itera selects three rector candidates for 2026–2030 period

Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - The Institut Teknologi Sumatera (Itera), through the Rector Selection Committee for the 2026–2030 Period, has officially designated three names of rector candidates who have passed the screening stage. “The three names are Prof. Aswan (Institut Teknologi Bandung), Prof. Elfahmi (Institut Teknologi Bandung), and Prof. M. Faiz Syuaib, M.Agr (Institut Pertanian Bogor),” said the Head of the Itera Rector Election Implementation for the 2026–2030 Period, Dr. Abdul Rajak, in Bandarlampung on Tuesday. He stated that prior to the designation of the three rector candidates, five prospective rector candidates underwent selection, namely Prof. Dr. Aswan (Institut Teknologi Bandung), Prof. Elfahmi (Institut Teknologi Bandung), Prof. Fahmi (Universitas Sumatera Utara), Prof. Ismunandar (Institut Teknologi Bandung), and Prof. M. Faiz Syuaib (Institut Pertanian Bogor). “The prospective candidates have completed all selection stages,” he said. He explained that in the screening stage, all 17 senate members each selected three rector candidate names in a closed ballot. Itera’s Academic Senate Chair, Dr. Sunarsih, expressed thanks to the five candidates who have competed with dignity and integrity in the Itera Rector Election contestation for 2026–2030. “The vote percentage was very tight, so the rector candidate selection process ran dynamically,” she said. Meanwhile, Itera’s Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Pugeg Aryantha, also conveyed appreciation to all prospective rector candidates. He assessed that the five candidates are the best figures with the capacity to lead Itera in the future.
