ITDC records 17 percent growth in tourist visits to Mandalika
PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), also known as InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), recorded a 17 percent growth in tourist visits during the first half of 2026 at the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) compared with the same period in 2025.
“Throughout the first semester of 2026, the Mandalika area recorded 685,844 tourist visits, growing 17 percent compared with the same period the previous year, while also reaching 124 percent of the company’s target,” said ITDC Acting President Director Ahmad Fajar in a written statement in Central Lombok on Friday.
He said the growth trend in Mandalika continues as the area strengthens its position as a sport and lifestyle tourism destination.
“The average occupancy rate also increased from 44.94 percent to 50.95 percent, supported by the increasingly dense schedule of sporting events, entertainment, and community activities during the first half of 2026,” he said.
“Various national and international events are projected to serve as catalysts for increasing tourist visits, occupancy, business activity, while also strengthening the multiplier effect for the hospitality, transportation, MSME, creative economy, and local business sectors,” he said.
He said that in the Mandalika area, this momentum will be reinforced through the hosting of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026, which is projected to once again become a catalyst for regional growth.
“We are not only pursuing an increase in the number of tourist visits, but also ensuring that each destination is able to create greater economic value through increased occupancy, longer tourist stays, business activity, and investment opportunities,” he said.
