InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has prepared 130 shuttle buses to support spectator mobility at the MotoGP Indonesia event held at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on 9–11 October.
“Event preparations continue to be finalised through intensive coordination with all stakeholders,” said ITDC Operations Director Troy Warokka in Central Lombok on Friday.
He said the coordination covers various integrated aspects, ranging from readiness at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit to support for mobility, security, infrastructure, health, accommodation and services for spectators.
On the mobility aspect, preparations include the provision of 130 shuttle bus units within The Mandalika area.
“As well as transport support on the Selaparang–Lombok International Airport–The Mandalika route,” he said.
The coordination also covers security for spectator mobility and the event area, readiness of race and non-race medical services, road infrastructure, strengthening destination promotion, and synchronisation of the joint task force involving security, disaster management, health and cleanliness elements.
“With the event date drawing closer, our focus is to ensure all aspects of preparation run in harmony,” he said.
“Through this coordination, we want to ensure all parties move together towards the event on 9–11 October 2026,” he said.
The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 will also offer a broader experience for spectators through the ‘beyond grand prix, discover paradise’ concept, which integrates the race-watching experience with the tourism appeal of The Mandalika.
A number of programmes have been and will be carried out leading up to the race weekend, ranging from ‘Meet and Greet’ sessions with Indonesian riders, Watch Parties, Riders Goes to School, to the Riders Parade.
During the event period, various experiences are also being prepared in The Mandalika area, including a Camping Experience, Circuit Lounge, Refined UMKM Area and Culinary Experience.
“The involvement of local communities is also strengthened through the participation of UMKM, joint cleanliness programmes, Students Go to Paddock, as well as various activities aimed at broadening the benefits of the event for the community,” he said.
“The staging of this event is expected to further strengthen The Mandalika’s position as Indonesia’s leading sport tourism destination at the global level,” he said.
