ITDC opens 2,500 volunteer positions for 2026 Indonesian MotoGP

InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is opening 2,500 volunteer positions for residents of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) for the Indonesian MotoGP at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit on 9–11 October 2026.

“We are opening an opportunity for the people of NTB to be directly involved in a world-class motorcycle racing event held in Mandalika,” said Troy Warokka, Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia and Director of Operations at ITDC, in Central Lombok on Monday.

He said 2,500 volunteers are needed to support various operational functions of the event, ranging from marshals, crowd control, security, waste management, cleaning services, media centre, ticketing, hospitality, to administration.

The recruitment process is conducted through walk-in interviews on 24–31 August 2026. Local community involvement is an important part of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at The Mandalika.

“Thousands of volunteers will become part of the event ecosystem supporting various operational aspects during the event,” he said.

The 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia not only presents world-class racing competition at The Mandalika, but also opens space for the people of NTB to become a direct part of its organisation.

“We want this momentum to provide experience and knowledge that can become an asset for the community, while fostering a sense of ownership towards an international event held in their region,” he said.

To broaden the reach of information to surrounding communities, recruitment socialisation is also being carried out in 23 villages around the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.

“Coordination is being carried out with village heads so that information about the opportunity to become a volunteer can be conveyed more widely to the community,” he said.

Selected volunteers will receive a daily assistance honorarium, meals, certificates, and BPJS Employment protection through the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programmes during the assignment period.

“The involvement of these 2,500 volunteers is also an opportunity to strengthen local human resource capacity. The experience of working within an international event ecosystem is expected to provide added value that they can carry forward and utilise after the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia,” he said.
