ITDC Nusa Dua Declares Urban Fun Run Event Illegal

State-owned enterprise PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or ITDC, has revealed that the Urban Fun Run event is illegal, as no official permit application or approval has been granted to the organiser. General Manager of ITDC The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, stated in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, on Wednesday that the company has not received any request for area usage or rental from the organiser. He emphasised that there is no cooperation, involvement, or relationship with the running event, which has been widely circulated on social media. He explained that all activities held within the tourism area must go through a series of official licensing mechanisms and approvals to ensure security, comfort, safety, and smooth operations. ITDC will take legal action if the use of its name or area is found without official consent, in order to protect the interests of the area, partners, and the public. He also urged the public to verify event information through the company’s official channels, stressing that ITDC maintains the credibility of the area as a professionally managed, safe, and trusted world-class tourism destination. Meanwhile, information about the running event, which is currently a trend among the public, has been widely circulated on social media. According to the information, the race is planned to be held on 9 August 2026 with a five-kilometre category. On the event’s Instagram channel, several citizens have commented that they have already registered and paid. The event’s website has also listed ticket prices, with pre-sale tickets for the general public and students in the VIP category priced at Rp149,000. However, some netizens have claimed that they have not received any verification or official confirmation via email.
