ITDC Nusa Dua Declares Urban Fun Run Event Illegal
Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA) - State-owned enterprise PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or ITDC, has revealed that the Urban Fun Run is illegal, as no application or official permit approval has been granted to the organisers to date.
“To date, we have not received any application for the use of the area or a rental request from the organisers,” said I Made Agus Dwiatmika, General Manager of ITDC The Nusa Dua, in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, on Wednesday.
Given this situation, the company affirmed that it has no cooperation, involvement, or organisational relationship with the running event, which has been widely circulated on social media.
He explained that all activities held in the tourist area must go through a series of permitting mechanisms and official approvals to ensure security, comfort, safety and operational smoothness.
The company will pursue legal channels if the use of its name or area without official approval is found, in order to protect the interests of the area, its partners and the public.
He urged the public to verify information about the staging of the event, among other things through the state-owned company’s official channels.
“We safeguard the credibility of the area as a world-class tourist destination that is managed professionally, safely and reliably,” he said.
Meanwhile, information about the running event, which is currently trending among the public, has spread widely on social media.
According to information on social media, the race is planned to be held on 9 August 2026 with a five-kilometre running category.
Through the event’s Instagram account, a number of residents have commented that they have already registered and paid.
Meanwhile, on its website, the event has listed its ticket prices, setting pre-sale tickets for the general and student very important person (VIP) categories at Rp149 thousand.
However, up to that point, several netizens claimed there had been no verification and no official confirmation received via email.
