ITDC: MSME involvement in 2026 MotoGP remains a priority
The InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has stated that the involvement of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Indonesia MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, scheduled for 9-11 October 2026, remains a priority to ensure economic benefits for the local community.
Speaking in Central Lombok, NTB, on Saturday, ITDC Operations Director Troy Warokka noted that the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is a collaborative event involving the synergy of the central government, regional governments, ministries, agencies, state-owned enterprises, sponsors, motorsport communities, tourism industry players, MSMEs, and local residents.
“This collaboration serves as an essential foundation for delivering increasingly better organisation year after year,” he said.
He added that the hosting of the Indonesia MotoGP is also part of an effort to build a long-term legacy for the community.
He further explained that the event brings not only economic benefits but also encourages the emergence of various talents and industry players who grow alongside the development of the national motorsport and tourism ecosystems.
“These benefits are felt directly by the community. More than 600 local MSMEs are involved in the activity ecosystem and destinations,” he said.
“The presence of MotoGP also opens wider opportunities for players in the creative economy, arts, culture, culinary, and local tourism sectors to introduce their products and services to both national and international markets,” he added.
He noted that global confidence in Indonesia as a host is inseparable from the success of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia in recent years.
“In the 2025 event, the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia successfully attracted 140,324 spectators, becoming one of the largest sporting events in Indonesia,” he said.
As part of the preparations for the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, ITDC, together with MGPA, has followed up on various evaluations and lessons learned from previous events to implement operational quality improvement programmes, covering not only the circuit area but also the entire Mandalika kawasan.
