ITDC: MSME involvement in 2026 MotoGP remains a priority
InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) stated that the involvement of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Indonesian MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, on 9-11 October 2026 remains a priority to provide economic benefits to the community. ITDC Director of Operations Troy Warokka said in Central Lombok on Saturday that the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is a collaborative event involving support and synergy from the central government, regional governments, ministries and institutions, state-owned enterprises, sponsors, the motorsport community, MSMEs, and local residents. “This collaboration is an important foundation in delivering an event that improves year on year,” he said. He added that hosting the MotoGP event is also part of an effort to build a long-term legacy for the community. The event not only provides economic benefits but also encourages the emergence of talents and industry players who grow alongside the development of the national motorsport and tourism ecosystem. “These benefits are felt directly by the community. More than 600 local MSMEs are involved in the event and destination ecosystem,” he said. The presence of MotoGP also opens wider opportunities for creative economy players, arts, culture, culinary, and local tourism to introduce their products and services to national and international markets. He stated that the world’s trust in Indonesia as a host is inseparable from the success of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia in recent years. “At the 2025 event, the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia managed to attract 140,324 spectators and became one of the largest sporting events in Indonesia,” he said. As part of the preparations for the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, ITDC and MGPA have followed up on various evaluations and lessons from the previous event into an operational quality improvement programme that covers not only the circuit area but also The Mandalika area as a whole.
