ITDC: Economic Impact of Indonesia MotoGP Reaches Trillions
InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) states that the hosting of the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has delivered a significant economic impact reaching trillions of rupiah. “The organisation of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025 in The Mandalika area produced a national economic impact of Rp4.96 trillion, based on a study compiled by the Institute of Industrial Management Technology at Bandung Institute of Technology (LETMI ITB),” said ITDC Operations Director Troy Reza Warokka in Central Lombok on Wednesday. He stated that this achievement confirms that the MotoGP event at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit is not only an international sports event but also provides tangible contributions to national and regional economic activity. “This agenda successfully attracted 140,324 spectators with hotel occupancy rates reaching 100 percent in the Mandalika area,” he said. “The development of The Mandalika represents a long-term investment in realising an ecosystem of sport tourism in Indonesia that can integrate the sports sector, tourism sector, and local economic development, including SMEs,” he added. He noted that the implementation of international events held at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit has proven capable of serving as a catalyst for national and regional economic growth. As part of the InJourney Group, InJourney Tourism Development Corporation is committed to making The Mandalika area, including Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit and the events held there, a part of the development of sport tourism destinations in Indonesia. “These figures reflect a multiplier effect that far exceeds the costs of organising the event,” he said. Given the benefits obtained, the company continues to coordinate with stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of such international events with increasingly optimal and sustainable schemes. “As part of our role as an agent of development and value creator, InJourney Group and ITDC are committed to continuously strengthening governance, increasing transparency, and ensuring that every business step provides sustainable added value, both for the company, the state, and the wider community,” he said.
