ITDC Develops Artistic Expression Space to Attract Tourists

State-owned enterprise PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or ITDC, is developing a space for local artists to express themselves through a new cultural attraction in The Nusa Dua tourism area, Badung Regency, Bali, to enhance visitor experience and appeal. “Tourists gain a quality and authentic experience, which in turn has the potential to extend their length of stay,” said General Manager I Made Agus Dwiatmika in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, on Friday. The new cultural attraction is titled Cipta Rwa Loka, inspired by the Balinese philosophy of Rwa Bhineda—two different yet complementary elements in life—and elevates the meaning of balance. The name Cipta Rwa Loka represents three main meanings: Cipta as consciousness and human creativity, Rwa as a symbol of duality, and Loka as the living space where all these dynamics take place, inviting the audience to experience the harmony between Balinese tradition and modernity. The performance by dozens of adult and child artists, lasting approximately 45 minutes, also serves as a magnet with colourful lighting on the Taksu Art Stage at Peninsula Island, The Nusa Dua, Badung, starting at 7 p.m. local time. Moreover, this contemporary art creation not only entertains tourists but also introduces Balinese art and philosophy in a more modern package. “This cultural activation not only enhances the quality of the tourist experience but also encourages creative economic growth, cultural preservation, and the creation of shared value for the community,” he added. Cipta Rwa Loka is the latest work from the Balinese art and culture community, Naluri Manca, which was established in 2020. The artist group previously won a talent search competition held by a national private television station in 2022 and was recorded in the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) in 2024 for a colossal multi-genre art performance.
