ITB Launches Master’s Scholarship Programme for Journalists, Note the Timings and Requirements
ITB has rolled out a Master’s scholarship programme for journalists in the mass media for 2026. The programme offered is the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the ITB School of Business and Management (SBM ITB).
ITB Vice Rector for Communications, Partnerships, Alumni, and Administration, Rikrik Kusmara, said ITB needs to strengthen its global reputation by engaging with the mass media. One of the steps is the launch of the ITB TV channel.
He said ITB TV would function to articulate the voices of experts scientifically, provide scientific analyses, and ITB’s responses to issues relevant to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
Meanwhile, ITB’s Director of Communications and Public Relations, Nurlaela Arief, said media are an important partner in building public communication that is credible, accurate, and impactful.
Universities cannot stand alone in communicating their research achievements, innovations, or social contributions to society without the support of professional and integrity-driven media. “The collaboration between ITB and the media is not merely a publicity relationship, but a partnership in building a knowledge ecosystem and shaping public perceptions of higher education, science, and technology,” he said.
The authorities also announced the ITB Media Scholarship 2026. The programme is designed to enhance journalists’ capabilities and competencies, particularly in the fields of business and management, while also opening access to high-quality postgraduate education for media professionals.
He said the scholarship programme not only provides study opportunities, but also encourages recipients to contribute to writing case studies, books, and knowledge-based journalism outputs.
“ITB provides three postgraduate scholarships for the media. The ITB Media Scholarship Programme is open to journalists who meet the criteria,” he said.
Some criteria include a maximum age of 45, good academic performance, and willingness to complete the studies within a maximum of 18 months under ITB’s academic standards.
The selection process is conducted through administrative stages, academic screening, up to interviews and a focused group discussion (FGD).
The selection process begins in March to April 2026, following ITB’s first wave of postgraduate selections. For more information about the ITB media scholarship, please contact the WhatsApp number +6287822822184.
