ITB Issues Subpoena to Prihantini Over Alleged Falsification of International Conference Research

The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has confirmed that it is issuing a subpoena to its Master’s alumna, Prihantini, who is suspected of falsifying research for international conferences. The institution has requested that the individual withdraw all published writings that utilised ITB’s affiliation.

“ITB will issue a subpoena requesting the individual to withdraw papers or all publications that mention or use ITB’s affiliation,” stated the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FPMIPA) at ITB, Aep Patah, via an official statement on Thursday (4/6/2026).

He explained that the university has conducted an in-depth investigation into the case involving Prihantini. The findings proved that the ITB name was misused as an affiliation. “Despite the fact that the individual is an alumna, her activities have no connection to the academic activities at ITB,” he added. He emphasised that the misuse of ITB’s name constitutes a violation of academic ethics.
