Italy's Enel in RI deal
ROME (Reuter): Italy's state electricity utility Enel said it has signed cooperation accords in Indonesia with the country's state-run oil firm Pertamina and electricity company PLN.
Enel said in a statement it will cooperate with Pertamina in the development of geothermal power. It said Indonesia had potential installable power estimated at 10,000 Megawatts.
The second accord with PLN is to help develop electricity production, transmission and distribution activities.
Enel said Indonesia's rate of growth in electricity demand exceeds 10 percent per year, equal to two million new customers a year.
