Italian tourist found dead

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: The police are still
investigating the death of Lorenza Cuomo, a 42-year-old Italian
tourist found dead here last week.

Col. Moechlis Moechtar of the local police command said they
found the Italian's body hanging from a batik cloth in a boat
shed, Antara news agency reported.

Two witnesses, Nam Karuna, 28, who was the victim's tour guide
and Natsir, 58, who found the body, have been questioned.
Requests for an autopsy have been made, but no approval has been
heard from relatives.

Lorenzo entered Indonesia on Nov. 4, 1994, on a social-
cultural visa. On Dec. 7, Cuomo visited the Gili Air sea resort
in Tanjung subdistrict where he stayed at the Bambu Cottages
owned by local villagers.

Moechlis said the Italian Consulate General in Denpasar has
also been informed of the death, but no one has come for the
