It Is Not About Where You Start: Horizon Education Students Prove Every Dream is Worth Fighting For

Jakarta, Indonesia and Karawang, Indonesia, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) — The Triputra Persada Horizon Education Foundation has concluded the 2025/2026 academic year with significant growth, while simultaneously strengthening its partnership with PHINMA Education, the largest higher education network in Southeast Asia by student numbers, serving approximately 178,000 students in the Philippines and Indonesia. Horizon Education manages Horizon University in Karawang and Kalbis University in Jakarta, which collectively serve more than 3,500 students. Horizon University and Kalbis University provide high-quality, affordable higher education that empowers students to become ‘Global Indonesians’.

The growth of these two universities is driven by the perseverance of students who refuse to let their circumstances limit their progress. Dinda, for instance, temporarily paused her education to support her family after seeing her father, who lives with a disability, working as a driver. After four years of working, she resumed her studies through Kalim University’s Employee Class programme—a flexible educational pathway for working professionals—to earn a degree in Business Management while maintaining full-time employment in Jakarta.

“I used to think that studying and working simultaneously was impossible. The Kalbis University Employee Class programme proved my assumption wrong — I can continue to develop my career while earning a degree without having to choose one over the other,” said Dinda, an Employee Class student at Kalbis University.

Farras, a Nursing graduate from Horizon University and the first in his family to achieve a bachelor’s degree, also found similar support during his educational journey. His mother, Yayah, reflected on the significance of this achievement for their family.

Since being under the management of Horizon Education in 2024, the number of new students at Kalbis University has increased more than threefold, with study programme options spanning Business, Technology, Communication, Psychology, Design, and Tourism, alongside new programmes in Nursing, Midwifery, Primary School Teacher Education, and English Language Education.

In Karawang, serving the Purwasukasi region which includes Purwakarta, Subang, and Bekasi Regency, the number of students at Horizon University has nearly tripled over the last six years, reaching almost 3,000 students. The university hosts the largest Faculty of Health Sciences in the Purwasukasi area, offering Diploma and undergraduate programmes in Nursing and Midwifery, as well as a Nurse Professional Programme.

In the 2026 Competency Test, Horizon University recorded a 100% passing rate for its Nurse Professional Programme, while maintaining a 100% passing rate for Midwifery Diploma for four consecutive years and Nursing Diploma for three consecutive years.

Other available undergraduate programmes include Informatics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Accounting, Management, and Tourism. The university is also the only campus in the Purwasukasi region to feature an iOS computer laboratory.

Five new undergraduate programmes — Psychology, Communication Science, English Language Education, Primary School Teacher Education, and Early Childhood Education — have further expanded the available educational options, followed by flexible Employee Class pathways for Psychology and Communication Science.

Both universities also run the Global Workplace English Programme to enhance English language proficiency and build student confidence. The programme features an active and applied learning approach, complemented by coaching and mentoring to support students throughout their educational journey.
