Cilacap, CNBC Indonesia - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has inaugurated the construction or groundbreaking of 13 downstreaming projects in phase two. Previously, in February 2026, President Prabowo also conducted the groundbreaking for 11 downstreaming projects in phase one.

It does not stop here; the government is also preparing downstreaming projects for phase three, comprising six downstreaming projects.

This was revealed directly by the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, or BKPM, Rosan P Roeslani. He stated that there is still a third phase planned with six national downstreaming projects.

“So if we add them up, there will be a total of 30 national downstreaming projects that we see will continue to develop and progress. This is phase two, Insha’Allah phase three we will carry out soon, then moving on to phase four and subsequent phases,” Rosan emphasised in the presence of President Prabowo at the Groundbreaking of 13 Downstreaming Projects in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

For Rosan, the downstreaming projects must be implemented promptly to increase added value, create industries, and generate employment opportunities.

In his notes, the downstreaming projects being implemented are capable of creating 600,000 jobs.

“Outside of phases one and two, there are already projects, Sir, such as downstreaming in coconuts; this is actually the second one, the first is also underway, and also downstreaming in other chemical sectors. So if we gather them, outside of those to be built later, the projects already constructed by us are worth approximately $26 billion USD,” Rosan asserted.

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto explained that this groundbreaking is for phase two downstreaming projects, covering 13 downstreaming projects valued at Rp116 trillion. Among them are five projects in the energy sector, five in minerals, and three in agriculture.

“It was mentioned earlier that phase one downstreaming has 13 projects in 13 locations, and shortly, this year, we will also add six more downstreaming projects, and we will continue to add them. There might be phases four, five, six, Insha’Allah this year as well,” Prabowo clarified at the inauguration in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

Prabowo stressed that downstreaming of natural resources in Indonesia is the only way for the country to become more prosperous. Therefore, the government will continue to advance downstreaming development in the homeland.

“Downstreaming is the only way for us to become more prosperous,” Prabowo explained.
