Police have disclosed that the victim and perpetrator in an attempted murder case in the elite residential area of Jalan Pati, Menteng, Central Jakarta, knew each other. The perpetrator, a woman with the initials T, is a commissioner, while the male victim, MHA, is the president director of the same IT company.

“So the victim and the perpetrator are colleagues who co-own a company in the IT sector. The victim serves as the president director of the company, and the perpetrator is a commissioner,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Roby Heri Saputra on Friday (19/6/2026).

The suspect confessed to attacking the victim in a blind rage due to pent-up frustration. She had harboured a grudge against the victim since 2020 because he frequently hurt her feelings and was considered slow in his work.

“The motive conveyed by the suspect so far is a sense of annoyance and resentment towards MHA because, in their association or collaboration from 2020 until now, the suspect was considered slow at work and often said things that hurt the suspect’s feelings,” he stated.

Nevertheless, the police are continuing further investigations, including probing other potential motives for the assault. “However, we are still investigating this motive, whether it is the sole reason or if there are other motives,” he explained.

Police revealed that MHA, who was found injured in Menteng, Central Jakarta, was not a robbery victim but the target of an attempted murder. “So the alleged thief, the stolen goods, and the theft incident itself are suspected to be fake. It was merely an alibi to obscure the actual event,” Roby said.

The investigation uncovered inconsistencies between witness statements and physical evidence. Police also determined that the robbery account was fabricated. “After we discovered that there were no two people entering the house, it turned out that the assault on MHA was actually carried out by Ms T herself,” he noted.

In his report, the victim claimed to have been robbed of 500 grams of gold. It was later discovered that the gold was counterfeit. “Following that, the victim’s sibling filed a police report with the Metro Police against Ms T under articles of aggravated assault and/or premeditated attempted murder,” he clarified.
