IT Company Commissioner Attempts to Murder Director in Menteng, Motive Revealed as Resentment Over 'Slow Work' Criticism
A woman identified by the initial T, a commissioner at an information technology company, is suspected of attempting to murder her colleague, MHA, at a house in the Menteng area of Central Jakarta. The alleged motive is a grudge stemming from the victim repeatedly calling her slow at work.
The case initially began with a report of a robbery. The victim was found injured on Jalan Pati, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (16/6). He had been visiting the house belonging to T.
T subsequently filed a robbery report with the police. She initially told investigators that two perpetrators had entered the house through the upper floor, got into an argument with MHA, prompting her to go upstairs with a stun gun. According to her early account, after gold was handed over, the two perpetrators injured MHA, and she then told her flatmate to go home.
However, Central Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Roby Heri Saputra stated on Friday (19/6) that inconsistencies were found between the witness’s statement and the evidence. The Metro Jaya Police General Criminal Directorate traced the facts, witness statements, and evidence using scientific investigation methods, ultimately discovering that T’s account was allegedly false.
‘So, the people she said committed the theft, the stolen goods, and the theft event itself, we suspect were all fabricated. It was merely an alibi to obscure the real incident,’ Roby said.
‘After we investigated, we found that there were no two people entering the house; rather, the assault on MHA was actually carried out by T herself,’ he continued.
T had filed a robbery report claiming a loss of 500 grams of gold, which was later determined to be false. Subsequently, the victim’s sibling filed a police report against T for aggravated assault and/or attempted premeditated murder.
Regarding the motive, AKBP Roby revealed that T attempted to kill her colleague because she was upset at being called slow at work. The two had been working together since 2020.
‘The motive conveyed by the suspect so far is that she harboured resentment and a grudge against MHA because, in their association and work together from 2020 to the present, the suspect was considered slow in working and often said things that hurt the suspect’s feelings,’ Roby stated. However, police are not immediately accepting this claim and will conduct further investigation and examine additional witnesses.
The suspect has been named and detained. She is charged under Article 466 concerning assault and Article 459 in conjunction with Article 17 paragraph 1 concerning attempted premeditated murder.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, in the afternoon. Initially, the victim and the suspect were on the ground floor of the location. The victim was playing a virtual reality game while the suspect, whose hand was injured, was applying a compress. The suspect then prepared a portable power supply and connected it with a cable. Police stated that the victim was electrocuted and fell.
‘The suspect then rolled up a cloth and asked the victim to hold it. Because the victim held the cloth, he was electrocuted and fell for approximately six to eight seconds,’ Roby explained.
The victim lost consciousness after the incident. In a panic, the suspect then fetched a wok from the kitchen and struck the victim on the head and back. However, the victim regained consciousness and fled upstairs while screaming. The suspect retrieved a stun gun and chased the victim, ordering him to lie on a mattress while brandishing the stun gun and a hammer. The victim complied, and the suspect then took a nitrogen tank and ordered the victim to inhale from it for about ten minutes. Unsure of the method’s effectiveness, the suspect then struck the victim on the head twice with the nitrogen tank, causing serious injury and bleeding. The suspect then went downstairs, fetched a kitchen knife, and stabbed the victim in the head, back, and neck. The victim sustained multiple injuries from the attack.
