The need for four-wheel-drive vehicles remains a focus for PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia, particularly to support mobility in areas with heavy terrain or regions affected by disasters.

The company stated that it has several models designed to handle extreme road conditions. These vehicles are not only used in the mining or plantation sectors, but also have the potential to support logistics distribution during disasters.

“We have the Elf 4x4. Then the D-Max also has a 4x4 version, as does the mu-X. So there are several 4x4 vehicle options from Isuzu,” said Puti Annisa Moeloek, Communication Management Department Head of PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia, at the Isuzu booth at GIIAS 2026, Thursday (6/8/2026).

These vehicles are considered capable of reaching areas that are difficult for conventional vehicles to access. This flexibility makes 4x4 vehicles necessary for various operational activities, including the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Puti said the need for such vehicles also arises in several regions with challenging geographical characteristics, including areas that have previously been affected by disasters.

“Yes, it is possible. There is also a need for them. There is,” she said.
